A Thanksgiving Note |
November 25, 2013 |
I live with an illness; Multiple Sclerosis. Despite the difficulties in my life caused by MS, I have so much to be thankful for including my husband, my loving family, our business and colleagues, those who protect and serve our great Country and my amazing friends. At the same time, I’ve discovered that life with MS (or life with anything) is so much easier to take when I accept its absurdity and face it with laughter and a fight. It’s not from thankfulness, but acceptance and a sense of humor and awe at life’s surprises. We, as a nation, are facing difficult days for the foreseeable future. Perhaps now is the time to sort out exactly what it is that we cherish….and then work on preserving those things. Let us not put those thoughts out of our minds when Thanksgiving dinner is cleared away. Let us remain grateful for the people in our lives, simple comforts, and the good fortune to live another day.
